Lonely? Depressed? Anxious? You've come to the right place!
God created us to be social beings. To find joy and purpose in being around others. To be able to offer hope and peace to those needing it. To be able to accept that hope and peace when we are feeling low.
We know that for so many people, the last few years have been filled with fear, with loneliness, with isolation. It's been easy to pick up a phone and scroll social media, where it seems everyone else's life is fun and beautiful and exciting. It's a lot harder to make actual, real, person-to-person contact.
In a video from last year, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said "Research shows that loneliness and isolation are associated with a greater risk of heart disease, dementia, stroke, depression, anxiety, and premature death."
Where can you go to find personal contact and answers?
Attending a good church is a great start! Harper Christian Church is a vibrant, growing community--our church family includes young families, babies, teens, seniors, couples, and singles. We would love to welcome you into that family.
As Surgeon General Murthy wrote in his advisory, "Religious or faith-based groups can be a source for regular social contact, serve as a community of support, provide meaning and purpose, create a sense of belonging around shared values and beliefs, and are associated with reduced risk-taking behaviors."
